Traveller Freeport is a fan based web site that caters for all versions of Traveller. Primarily it started out as a TNE centered site. However, as fragmentet as the Traveller fan base is, it is near impossible to have a real live site.

The Idea

Traveller Freeport takes the community one step further. Here users may post their modules, designs and so on to share with the Traveller community regardless of setting and rules. The main inspiration for this site was HIWG, which played a role in forming the Traveller universe during the Rebellion.

The material published here isn't official in any way, it is however a looking glass into how fans experience Their Traveller Universe (TTU). And you an now be a part of that looking glass.

How do I participate?

If you have signed up here you can contribute in several ways

1. Upload files to the repository
2. Write articles. This site needs several types of articles. If you feel something is missing here, why not write the article yourself?
3. Vote on articles. Let the authors know how good you think their articles are.
4. Comment on articles. Do you feel something is wrong with the article? Or you got suplementary information? Sign up and comment.

Why should I become a contributor?

Because you can be a part of a living Traveller community. Not that Traveller doesn't have one with several other boards and mailing lists and numerous web pages. But there is no web site for Traveller like this.

As many others I have had several Traveller pages since the web got available outside the academic circles. And one thing I did notice, is that it is hard to keep it updated and interesting over time. Real life does intrude sooner or later, which makes hard to keep a web site vigorous. And the best part; you don't need to close down your site. Keep your site specific material and post ideas and material that may not fit in with your other site content. Then it will fit right in here. At the moment, this site has a lot of TNE material, but that may change.
