One thing we never seem to run out of is the version discussions when it comes to which edition is the best, both when it comes to rules and the setting. I have never hidden the fact that I like the TNE rules and setting, however I also like the CT/MT settings too as it makes a full campaign arc to put your games into.

Just a few weeks ago my Traveller campaign picked up where it left off about 2 years ago. As I had plans to continue the campaign where we ended it two years ago, I got into a kind of squeeze as I also decided to bring a new member into the group, Jeremy.

minecraftLately I have been drawn into a (on the surface) rather simple game. You may have heard about it. It is called Minecraft. This indie title has been the hottest item since Civilization V: I would dare say even hotter than Civ V. Of course my Traveller activities suffers greatly because of Minecraft. Minecraft t started out as a one-man show. The game is still in Alpha, but sells faster than hot buns. So what is it about. Not much actually. I will remain a gamer until they pry my dices from my cold dead hands.

MT1startupOne subject that often comes up in Traveller discussions is wether there should be an online Traveller game. Visions of how a Traveller game online should be are many. Ranging from the ordinary MMO to a NWN mod and further on to a FPS game.

IMO a Traveller MMO wouldn't do very well, even if it does give Traveller more exposure to the public.

Just recently there has been a large debacle about the new and upcoming book from Mongoose, the alien module covering Aslans. In many ways that discussion is a live example of what I tried to convey with my previous editorial. Mongoose really finds themselves between a grognard and a hard place.

Traveller is old, even older than some of its players. I started out with Traveller in 1988 short after leaving the Norwegian Navy. Just months prior to my leave, I had encountered roleplaying games through a friend that which visited me when I had shore leave. So when I was dismissed, I wanted to buy a rpg myself, and it had to be a SciFi game.
