Biological matter is cut up into sizeable chunks and inserted into the hopper. If the matter is dry water needs to be added. During the processing the biological matter will be made into a paste. Certain active ingredients filter out poisons and other harmful elements. The final produce comes out as a bland paste in the collector. Waste material is ejected out on the side or collected in bags which can be fastened to the wate ejector. The extractor may also be used to filter dubious animal meats or plant matter for posions on planets where animals or plants normally can't be eaten by humans (and most aliens).
As almost anything can be processed to yield nutritients, the value and content may vary a great deal. It is recommended to also include vitamin pills when consuming extracted matter. It is not recommended to use the extractor over several weeks as it will likely lead to malnutrition, but if starvation is the alternative, the choise isn't too hard.
The extractor are introduced at TL 10 and is available at most A to C starports.
In addition to the extractor there is needed chemicals to disolve, bind up and filter matter. These chemicals comes in suitabe cartridges and cost 10% of the extractor and can last up to the full battery duration of the extractor. However this depends a bit on the material being processed. biological filters which are also needed cost 2% of the extractor price and lasts generally for twice the battery duration.

| 15 | 30 | 48Kg | 12hrs | 6L | 40000 | any matterial that can contain nutrients, including rock. |
Yield/hr is the maximum yield of nutrients during processing. The value may be lower depending on material being processed. I leave that up to the referee to decide.
